DRAWING
With this I redrew it in my head and had to figure out how I was going to approach the piece to start.
SCULPT
This was hard at first but after creating the body shape I added on the hat, arms, claws, eyes , tongue, and mouth.
SMOOTH
I just used water and my fingers to smooth and fix shaping I didn't like. I also changed the hand shape to be more realistic.
CARVE
Once the piece was misfired, I began to smooth the entire thing with another piece of clay and a wooden tool. Then I carved out the teeth with a needle tool.
GLAZE
This was the piece all glazed and ready to be fired. The moth was difficult to get precise but I was able to carve away the painted glaze and redo it.
FIRE
This was the monster all finished and glazed. I love how it turned out and don't want to give it away!
